Lagos State First Lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola has described the former Deputy Governor of the State, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan as a loyal servant of people.
She made this assertion at a send-off ceremony organised for the deputy governor recently, stating that she enjoyed four years of working with Princess Sosan as the wife of the State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN).
According to Dame Fashola, the former deputy governor has left a legacy that successive administrators in the education sector will always cherish.
She said, "This is an evening am very proud of. At a point, I thought we did not appreciate what the deputy governor did in education. But when I got the invitation to attend this event, I was very happy that some people still appreciate Sosan's work."
She described Sosan as a listening person who would always be ready to profer solutions to any problem to before her.
"She has a listen ear. She is always willing to intervene whenever I come around to tell her about the shortcomings in our public schools. She will stand up to do it. This is the kind of people we want in this country. She has made a difference. She had made a mark," she said.
Stating that she would miss the former deputy governor, Mrs Fashola explained that Sosan had been her close confidant, a sister she could open to anytime.
"I will not say I will miss her. She is somebody we can open up to. We should all be supporting one another. There is no need of pulling one another down. I will never play a part to suppress any woman in life," she said.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the body of Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Ranti Odutola said that the civil servants enjoyed the stay of the Sosans, adding, "Our relationship with her has been the best. We work in such a way that the flow of love and peace that the administration needed were got. We thank her for the support.
Also speaking was the former Special Adviser to the governor on Rural Development, Mr. Paul Kalejaiye, who described Sosan as a team player.
According to him, Sosan ensured the blending of the education family together. "She is an administrator par excellence, dedicated ambassador in education sector whose activities are associated with all development in Lagos state. She succeeded in contributing her best to the most difficult ministry in the state," he stated.
Reacting, Sosan said that she had achieved a lot because she had worked with a genius, the State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), adding, "What can I say onto the Lord. All I have to say is to thank the Lord. I learnt a lot from my boss. He is passionate, committed, proactive, disciplined. I'm proud to be part of his team."
She commended the First Lady, describing her as a biological sister she never had. "Thank you for the support. You will forever be my sister. I never had a biological sister because all my siblings are boys but Mrs. Abimbola Fashola filled the space for me. It was really challenging".
