• “In whatever situation, let’s be out brother’s keeper”, she advises
The Lagos State First Lady, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola, recently hosted members of the Downs Syndrome Society of Nigeria at the Lagos House Marina with a call on all Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers.
In her brief remark to welcome the members, Mrs. Fashola said, “No matter the situation we find ourselves, we should always be our brother’s keeper”, pointing out that it is the only way we can appreciate God’s love for us all.
The First Lady said the issue of disability has been brought to the front burner in national discourse because in spite of the physical disability, every human has a potential to contribute to the upliftment of humanity.
Congratulating the Society on the occasion of the Downs Syndromes Day, Mrs. Fashola commended the initiators of the event and other non-governmental agencies who have contributed in any way to give succour to the physically challenged in our society.
