Jan 1, 2010 - First Baby Of The Year 2010 Held At Ayinke House, Ikeja

Let us give thanks to Almighty God for sparing our lives to see this New Year. We pray that 2010 will bring abundant joy to us, our State and our country.

I also bring you sincere greetings and best wishes of His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN the Governor of Lagos State.

Ayinke House is very unique of all of our Healthcare Delivery Facilities in the State not only because it serves as a referral centre for Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital but also because it stands as a legacy of Late Sir Mobolaji Bank Anthony, who donated it to immortalize the name of his late mother. May their gentle souls continue to rest in perfect peace.

It is my hope and prayer that Ayinke House will continue to witness improvement in the upgrading of its facilities so that the excellent service it is currently providing to women across the State will be sustained and meet the challenges of the 21st century.

I congratulate all Doctors, Nurses and Hospital Administrators for the excellent work you are doing and it is our hope and indeed the expectation of all the good people of the State that you will continue to work very hard to justify government’s reforms to the Health sector.

I congratulate our First Baby of the Year and rejoice with the mother and the entire family for the blessing of safe delivery.

I also congratulate all other mothers who have had their babies recently and wish all those on admission a quick and perfect recovery.

Finally, we appreciate the kind gesture of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in the donation of N50,000 to the First Baby of the Year and gift items to other five babies delivered today.

I wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Thank you.

Eko o ni Baje!

Her Excellency
Mrs. Abimbola Fashola
First Lady of Lagos State
