It is always a great joy and a time of spiritual reawakening that I look forward to joining my dear sisters in Christ in glorifying the name of our Lord Jesus Christ at the Hadassah Women conference. I am most grateful to the leadership of Lagos Province 2 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for the invitation to be a partaker of the blessings and the enriching experience of Hadassah 2008 conference. I bring the warm greetings of my darling husband, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Governor of Lagos State.
This afternoon, as this conference draws to a climax, let me use the opportunity of today’s thanksgiving service to appeal to you as virtuous women serving the living God to make the best use of your spiritual gifts and talents in contributing to the growth and development of the people and the society.
It is my belief that no one can give what he does not have. But with the much I have seen during the last Hadassah conference and with what I see now, I see in you a depth of the love and compassion of God and it is my hope that you will make a difference in the lives of your neighbours by reaching out to them using the resources God has placed at your disposal.
In my address to this conference last year, I recall that I made a request to you that you impart positively on your environment, today I am delighted and pleased to note, as I have been informed that the women of Lagos Province 2, have in the past year donated a borehole to the men and women of Ogba Retail Market, I commend you for this and many more kind gestures that you continue to make. It is my prayer that the almighty God will not forget your labour of love.
As I conclude my address to you this afternoon, I congratulate and rejoice with Pastors Femi and Debola Atoyebi, conveners of Hadassah Women Conference and the entire women of Lagos Province 2 for yet another very successful and life changing conference. I also use this opportunity to welcome to Lagos State conference participants from other states of the Federation and from countries of the world.
As we yet praise Him in Spirit and in truth, may His presence and His blessings abide with us all as we look forward to a prosperous New Year.
