Oct 19, 2007 - International Women's Society Golden Jubilee Fund Raising Gala Night
During the past few months that I have had the opportunity of close interaction with members of the International Women’s Society especially as a proud honourary member, I must say that I am very much impressed by what the society has achieved in the 50 years of its existence. I want to commend the Golden President, Mrs. Gbemi Sasore and other members who are distinguished and accomplished women, for their spirit of selfless service which they have continued to demonstrate to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need of care and support in the society.
It is gratifying to note that the projects for which funds are being raised tonight including the Widows Trust Fund, the Skills Acquisition Centre, the Day Nursery, the LUTH Library, the Scholarship Scheme and the Social Services are all geared towards uplifting the less privileged in the society. I therefore urge everyone to support this noble cause so that the capacity of these projects to have meaningful impact on the society will be further enhanced.
I congratulate the President as well as other members of International Women’s Society on the 50th anniversary celebrations.
I pray that God almighty will continue to strengthen you and grant you the wherewithal to lift IWS to greater height.
