First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola (2nd R), putting on the gown during the 34th Convocation Of Elegant Twins School.Oct 19, 2007 - 34th Convocation Of Elegant Twins School Of Cosmetology
I would like to congratulate and felicitate with our mother Dr. (Mrs.) Osinsanya JP, OON, Managing Director/CEO of Elegant Twins School of Cosmetology on this auspicious occasion of the 34th Convocation ceremony.
As already mentioned by Dr. (Mrs.) Osinsanya, Elegant Twins School of Cosmetology is well known to me. It is one institution that has demonstrated tremendous commitment to the development and modernisation of hairdressing and beauty care as a profession to be reckoned with both nationally and internationally.
The continued growth and relevance of Elegant Twins 54 years after its establishment is a testament to the founder’s determination, passion, commitment and courage which have enabled it overcome challenges and obstacles over the years. It is worthy of note and commendation that by dint of hardwork and perseverance, the school has opened window of opportunities for young women who are being empowered through vocational training.
Let me congratulate and rejoice with all the graduands of today on the successful completion of their training at the Elegant Twins School of Cosmetology. I also rejoice with parents, graduands, friends and well wishers who are gathered here to be part of this celebration.
As you bid the school farewell and commence a new chapter in your lives, I wish you all the very best. It is however very important to remind you of the fact that the prize you have to pay for success, in addition to the past years of learning and sacrifice, is hardwork. In order to create a niche for yourselves especially in the competitive business environment, you must complement the skills and knowledge you have learnt with creativity, innovativeness, honesty, good inter-personal relationship and fear of God.
I wish to also use the opportunity of this occasion to call for more financial support for small and medium enterprises from financial institutions, especially micro finance establishments. It is a fact that SMEs holds the key to economic growth and development particularly for a developing economy such as ours. We therefore need to address the challenges that are being faced by small and medium enterprises so that they can be empowered to grow and accelerate the process of economic recovery.
Finally, I want to congratulate all the recipients of the Honourary Doctorate degree, Fellowship, Gold Merit and Epitomes of Beauty awards of this great school. I wish to particularly felicitate with Her Excellency, Yeye Asiwaju Oluremi Tinubu, President, New Era Foundation who is being honoured with Honourary Doctorate degree on this occasion.
Once again, I congratulate Dr. (Mrs.) E. A. Osinsanya JP, OON, management and staff of Elegant Twins School of Cosmetology on the 34th Convocation of this institution.
I thank you for your kind attention.
God bless you all.
Her Excellency
Mrs. Abimbola Fashola
First Lady of Lagos State
