Sep 16, 2007 - CPM Women Of Vision International Conference

Glory be to God almighty for the opportunity to be part of yet another successful Women of Vision International Conference which I am aware commenced on Monday 10th September 2007.

I congratulate our Father in the Lord Dr. Ezekiel, General Overseer of Christian Pentecostal Mission and our Mother in Israel Rev. Dr. Mercy Ezekiel, the Co-Pastor and National/International coordinator of the annual conference for the grace which the Lord has given you to remain steadfast and committed to the vision. There is no doubting the fact that this annual meeting has helped in no small measure to uplift the social, emotional and spiritual growth of most women as well as deepened their understanding of the scripture through experiences that are shared among members who attend this conference from various parts of the world.

The theme for this year’s conference “Women of Purpose” which has engaged the attention of participants in the past few days is very apt as well as instructive. As we all know, our God is a God of purpose; there is nothing He does or created without a purpose. Our being alive today is so that we might fulfil His divine purpose on earth, as the scripture aptly tells us, God’s thoughts or purpose for us is to bring us all to an expected end. It is therefore very important that we should come to a better understanding of this primary purpose for which we are created in order to be able to lead a purpose-driven life.

One particular area which I would like to emphasize and which I believe is one of the core responsibilities of a woman is the proper upbringing of children within a peaceful, happy and loving family system. Unfortunately, this is one responsibility which we seem not to be paying enough attention to; a situation that has often been blamed on the pressure of the modern economic realities which has made it imperative for women to complement the resources at the disposal of the family.

While there may be some merit in this assertion, there is a good reason for us to always strike a balance in a way that there will be no compromise in the discharge of this primary duty. The moral decadence and the crisis of value, dignity and decency which the society is presently grappling with is no doubt, a direct consequence of our failure in this regard.

I will therefore like to enjoin everyone of us to be in the vanguard of re-orientating each other and fellow women on the need to rededicate ourselves to this primary purpose for a better, peaceful, secured and God fearing society.

Once again, I want to congratulate our father and mother in the Lord on the success of this year’s conference. I pray that the good Lord will continue to strengthen you in the good work you are doing for humanity.

I also congratulate all the participants and wish you journey mercies back to your various destinations.

I thank you for your kind attention. God bless you all.
