Jun 26, 2007 - “Every Woman A Minister” Conference Of TREM
Today, I am honoured to join our Father and Mother in the Lord, and the entire member of the Redeemed Evangelical Mission family, in the opening day ceremony of year 2007 “Every Woman a Minister” Conference.
I congratulate our Mother in Israel, Bishop Peace Okonkwo and my dear sisters in Christ for the blessing and joy of yet another annual conference.
I bring to this august gathering the warm greetings of my husband, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, the Governor of Lagos State and on his behalf, I express our profound gratitude and appreciation to the leadership and members of the TREM family for your prayers and support during the last elections.
As you may already be aware, the journey towards the realization of the Lagos of our dream will no doubt be a challenging one. However, I am confident that with the abiding grace of the Almighty God, the goodwill of Lagosians and your prevailing prayers, our collective dreams and aspirations for our dear State will in the name of Jesus Christ become a reality and a testimony to the glory of the Almighty God
I am happy to note that “Every woman a minister” conference has grown to become a great platform where women from around Nigeria come together every year to refresh their souls and equip themselves with the word of God and with new skills essential for living a successful life of impact and service.
The theme for this year’s conference “The Winning Woman” which I consider very significant and apt further attests to this. It is therefore my earnest prayers that the Lord will grant us victory in all areas of our individual lives in Jesus name.
In conclusion, let me also congratulate our mother in Israel and the women of TREM family on the dedication of the Rehoboth Homes and Skills Acquisition Centre which I am informed is a special home for stranded women. By this initiative, you have further shown that it is our individual and collective responsibility to ensure the growth and development of the society. The State Government on its part is determined to continue to provide opportunities for the empowerment of women and youths through training in skills acquisition and the provision of necessary support to ensure women and children are taken off the street and gainfully engaged to provide for themselves.
While I thank you for the invitation to be part of this year’s conference. I wish you all a rewarding and a successful conference.
I thank you for your attention and may God bless you all
Her Excellency
Mrs. Abimbola Fashola
First Lady of Lagos State
